Newborn Hat

The one person I’m always being inspired by is SARAH from Repeat Crafter Me. She has tons of great ideas and she shares her patterns for free which is even more amazing. Her patterns are colorful, easy to make and original. If you love cooking and children crafts, you will also be able to find something just for you.

My latest project by Sarah was a cute newborn hat with a heart on. I made two of them just in two evenings. I love them. I wish I could wear then, sadly my head is way too big. You can find the pattern her: Crochet Newborn Knot Hat Pattern.

Here is my cute result:

I chose not to make a heart and keep it even more simple. Also, instead of a slip stitch around I made crab stitch edging.

I think that the pink hat needs an additional explanation. I do not know how I made the bottom to look like it does but I do have a guess. I think, I accidentally started to crochet from the other side. It gave it a very nice look. Sometimes, mistakes do have a very good finale and give you a chance to discover new things.

Snowman Hats

Hello!

It seems like just yesterday I posted my last post. But it’s almost a month ago. Shame on me! Therefore, I’m hurrying to post my new work just, just out of  the “oven” but already heating two little ladies.

I know it’s not winter time yet but it’s never too early to get ready for the cold weather, yes? On this note, I’m posting two lovely, cute snowman hats which were made for two great girls: one whom just yesterday turned 1 year! Congratulations, Leia!!! Maya, her cousin, is a bit older. Can’t wait to see the pictures of them wearing these hats.

I found a pattern on my very favorite blog of Sarah, Repeat Crafter Me. Thank you! No one can thank you enough for those great patterns you are sharing with us!!!

Here is my result. I did crochet the nose bit differently, as I used thin cotton (it had to be a lot bigger), and I also changed the place of the hat because it looked better that way. 🙂 I also wanted to change the look of pom poms. To make them more fluffy I just used a comb and brushed it for quite a while. Now they are very soft and light to touch. On the other hand, I still need to work on their shape.

Here how it looks on a little birthday lady. Isn’t she cute?

Colorful Elf Hat

Long ago I wanted to crochet an elf hat but never had the inspiration for it, or other projects were in the way. Nevertheless, I finally managed to sit down and make one. I have to say that I still need to work on the pattern, especially on the decrease part because I noticed that one side doesn’t look like the other one. It’s a bummer, I know. Therefore I’m not posting a pattern for it. I’ll do that when I make a good one.

Today I just want to share with you some pictures of it, and also let you know that I’m not gone. I’m still crazy about crochet, and have many projects that will be finished soon. Don’t get scared off when I bomb you with posts one day. But let’s get back to the point. Here is the first attempt of my colorful elf hat.

Newborn “Sheep” Set (Hat, diaper cover & booties)

Hello!

You know what I hate most when crocheting? It’s sewing the details together. It takes me forever just to sit down and finish something only because I don’t think I’m very good at doing it. Usually it seems that the parts are not sewn on right or symmetrically. Nevertheless, I still managed to sew two ears on a cutest baby hat I’ve ever made. I’m still planning to resew the ears, I just couldn’t wait for sharing it with all of you.

The pattern for this wonderful hat you can find right here: Crochet Lamb Hat Pattern. It’s very easy to follow and you need only one or two hours of your time, and you have your own baby hat. On the other hand, it’s quite a yarn eater, but who cares when the result is totally awesome.

I’ve also made a whole set for a picture prop. I bet it would look great on a baby. You can read about the booties here. I’m still working on the pattern for the diaper cover. It should be done any time this week, you just have to be patient.

Strawberry Hat

Hello!

Before writing about the strawberry hat I would like to greet all Moms because it is Mothers day today in my birth country Lithuania. Moms, be strong and patient, be loved and cared about. We love you all and are thankful for all you have given us!

Some time ago I was asked to make a strawberry hat for an almost one year old girl Leia. By the time I received this task Sarah had  just made one and posted on her blog Repeat Crafter Me. She shared a pattern as well. You can imagine that I was more than happy about this. I worked hard to make this little strawberry hat for that lovely girly. I also found out that I need to get some thicker or bulkier yarn as I used a pattern for an adult hat (and I still think it might be too small!). Nevertheless, soon they will visit us and Leia will be able to try it on and we will see if it fits her head.

For now, check it out! I chose to make the seeds in black so they don’t stand out. The bottom edge is also a bit curvy: I used the Crab stitch.
